We're nearly there!
A truly great term has almost finished and what a super final week it has been!
It is not unusual for me to be proud of the pupils of Glebe House School and yet again as I sat at the back of St Mary's Church yesterday, listening to the choir sing at the wedding of Lucy West & William Dobbs, I couldn't have wished for more. The choir contributed to the hymns, largely carols, with clear, effective descants and then sang during the signing of the Register. Two pieces were chosen: Howard Goodall's The Lord is my Shepherd and Nativity Carol by John Rutter. Both were beautifully clear and well-received by the congregation. Thank you so much to the children and also the parents for giving up your Saturday afternoon to bring them to the Church. Thank you also to Bridget Crofts and Karen Hubbard for working so well with the choir.
Have we ever had a day like yesterday?!
A great Christmas Boutique organised by Katie Poulter and wonderfully supported on Friday afternoon and this morning in addition to the effort shown from 7am to close-down by the Parents' Committee. Early indications are that we should be looking at a profit of over £2,000 - great news, but the spirit is the thing that I will take away.
Remarkably it is only three weeks to the end of term and yet there is so much still to fit in and look forward to. Please do read my blog carefully and please don't hesitate to ask me or Lisa/Bridget if anything is unclear. Please do note my challenge to support those less fortunate than ourselves towards the end of this blog.
