One of the most valuable aspects of school life is the way in which we can extend the children to offer enrichment beyond the curricular day.
Children really embrace the opportunities after school and lunchtimes to experience something different that makes demands of them physically, mentally and emotionally.
The vast majority of activities are run by staff at no additional cost, but specialist coaching is also available.
Amongst the physical activities we offer are: sailing, golf, archery, fencing, yoga, gymnastics, cricket, football, athletics, tennis and swimming.
Those with a penchant for the performing arts are well served by the orchestra, the choir who regularly perform both in school and at external events; Eagle Performers, whose song and dances routines are a feature of our school shows; and Glebe Does Strictly, which involves over half of the school in its two sessions each week. Additionally, according to the time of year, play rehearsals which include every member of the school.
A more sedate pace is set in other activities including: chess, Glebe trading, charity committee, quiz, history films, languages (Latin, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish), computing, gardening, scholarship art and design technology.
All children are encouraged to do at least two activities each week, and many do a lot more, and in this way we are able to respond to the need for our children to be rounded characters who are laying the foundations for life-long interests.
