On Friday, 13th December we marked the close of the Autumn Term and the end of the year at Glebe House School with a day was filled with festive activities and celebrations.
Starting with the Collections Assembly – our termly celebration of all our pupils’ achievements, whether through effort or attainment. At Glebe House School, our pupils constantly challenge themselves, pushing outside their comfort zones, embracing every opportunity, and trying new things, all while supporting their peers and leading by example. This term, the House Flag was awarded to Barbers, and the House Cup went to St. Edmunds. Presentations were made by Mrs. Maud, Mrs. Haslam, Mr. Turner, Mrs. Bower, and Mrs. Fraulo. Congratulations to all who were recognised this term.
Following the assembly, the whole school enjoyed a beautiful traditional two-course Christmas lunch served to all pupils, staff, and governors. It’s always a fun occasion as the roles are reversed, with staff waiting on the pupils, whereas it’s usually the children waiting on the staff. The Dining Hall looked fantastic and everyone had a fabulous time. A big thank you to Mrs. Handley and her team.
The day concluded with the annual Carol Service, which brought our families and community together for a very special afternoon. Held at St. Mary’s Church in Old Hunstanton, this wonderfully traditional end to the year featured readings from children in Divisions III to VIII, performances from the Prep School Choir led by Mrs. Hawkins, and “Away in a Manger” sung by Pre Prep. Mulled wine and mince pies, served by Friends of Glebe House School, added to the festive atmosphere.
It was a memorable day filled with joy, celebration and community spirit, perfectly wrapping up the term and the year at Glebe House School.
