Glebe House School Prep choir were excited to take centre stage at this year’s Hunstanton Christmas Festival on Sunday, 26th November.
The event was an excellent opportunity for Glebe House to showcase its talented young performers and for the whole school to actively engage with the local community.
The eagerly anticipated event, organised by Hunstanton Town Council led by Mayor Michael Ruston, featured many fun attractions, including food and drink stalls, fairground rides, street entertainers and a captivating lantern parade. The highlight of the evening was, of course, the eagerly awaited arrival of Father Christmas, culminating in the grand Christmas lights switch on!
The Glebe House School Prep Choir, led by Mrs Hawkins, appeared on the festival’s main stage lineup alongside KL1 Radio, Your Choir and other local schools from the area. Dressed in black attire and festive headwear, the choir performed three numbers that spanned a range of genres. Opening with “Christmas Bells,” a cheery medley of well-known Christmas carols, they then followed with “Angels Carol” by John Rutter and “We Need a Little Christmas” by Jerry Herman.
It was also wonderful to see so many members of the Glebe House School community involved in the day. The Hunstanton & District Men’s Shed, which is based on the school grounds, was responsible for crafting Father’s Christmas’ amazing sleigh, and The Ukrainian Cafe, located in the Town Hall and run by parent Nataliya Churikova and fellow Ukrainian families, offered delicious treats to festival goers throughout the day.
Overall, it was a fantastic festive occasion for our school and the Hunstanton community.
